News SUNRise Project: Installation of a solar system in the Omoro District, Uganda, at the NGO Deaf in Action successfully completed
The installation of a solar system at the NGO Deaf in Action in Omoro District, Uganda, has been successfully completed. The system was implemented by the local implementing partner ACSET as part of the SUNRise project and is now fully operational.
Solar Extension Agents (SEAs), who were trained as part of the BMZ-funded SESEUS project (Systems Strengthening to Enhance Solar Energy Use and Services in Uganda), were also involved in the installation. Their involvement underscores the importance of local capacity building and the sustainable establishment of technical expertise on the ground.
The new system ensures a reliable and clean energy supply, which particularly strengthens the organization’s education and training programs. This enables students and trainees to carry out their practical activities under stable conditions and further develop their professional skills.
The SUNRise project is part of the Urbis Foundation’s ongoing commitment to improving access to sustainable energy in partner communities and thereby promoting long-term social and economic development.
