News Solar energy for schoolchildren in Uganda

Thanks to the great engagement of our partner the Giving Children Hope Initiative from Uganda the primary school in Kabagolo village has finally access to electricity.

Our partner Giving Children Hope installed a 2.3 kWp solar system at the primary school of Kabagolo village in the Mitayana district, central Uganda. As the school has no connection to the power grid, the solar system is not only a cheap and clean source but also the only source of electricity. From now on, pupils and teachers can work and study independently from daylight and they can finally introduce computers.

The project has been entirely financed by our grant application programme for which the Giving Children Hope Initiative applied in 2020. Currently our programme is undergoing structural reforms. From 2022 you can newly apply for grants.
