News Handover of the machines to the first two local Maschinenringe in Togo
New machinery, new prospects: At the end of 2025, agricultural equipment was handed over to the machinery rings in Tchalo and Koboyo. This project, financed by the Urbis Foundation and implemented by the Maschinenringe Foundation, is providing an important boost to strengthening local agriculture in Togo.
As part of the project for sustainable agricultural development in Togo, financed by the Urbis Foundation and implemented by the Maschinenringe Foundation, an important milestone was reached at the end of 2025: several agricultural machines were officially handed over to the local machinery rings in Tchalo and Koboyo and put into operation. The handover took place in the presence of local officials and Maschinenring manager Sadate Kpenadje and was accompanied by practical training on the use and maintenance of the technology.
Since the handover, the machines from Togolese manufacturer Guema Concept have been in use, supporting local farmers in the cultivation and processing of crops such as maize, soybeans and millet. At the same time, technical improvements have been made to the machines to further increase their performance in the fields. In addition, the range of training courses offered on site has been expanded so that users can operate the machines safely and efficiently.
Despite a number of challenges, particularly with regard to delivery times and administrative processes, it is already clear that the machinery rings are being actively used and are making an important contribution to improving local agricultural processes. The project strengthens local value creation and supports farmers in making their production more efficient and sustainable.
The project will continue to be supported in 2026 in order to consolidate the structures of the machinery rings and further expand the benefits for the participating communities.
